Talk to your builder first
If a contractor is building on the pad, get the size and elevation from them so the grade matches the plans.
Clay up top, sand below
Around Crestview the ridges carry red clay and the low ground runs sandy. Both grade well, but they drain and settle differently.
Driveways need a crown
